Books educate, teach, and make children penetrate new worlds, discover the unknown and get closer to the truths or lies of the known. Books awaken feelings, sensations and reactions.

They stimulate imagination, creativity and fun. They are great tools for the development and education of children.

Reading is also learning. And as such, it must be stimulated in children from a very young age. Children's books are transferred on the shelves of bookstores. The libraries every day open more doors and rooms oriented to encourage reading in the little ones.

Apart from books, there are also educational projects to bring children closer to reading and motivate them to explore books. Today I found a portal in Peru, created to improve children's reading comprehension. This is Reading, an interactive page where you can also find tips for parents and educators on how to stimulate the habit of reading among children, especially those between eight and twelve years old.

I found it to be a very complete and visually attractive site. I recommend it to you. The Children's and Young People's Book Day aims to commemorate another famous anniversary.

I refer to the anniversary of the birth of Hans Christian Andersen, the father of such surprising children's stories as "The Ugly Duckling", "The Tin Soldier", "The Emperor's New Suit", "The Little Mermaid", and many other tales that accompany children for different generations.
